Trailbusting on Sunday 5/23/10

After the St Jude's Children's Hospital Trailride on Saturday, we loaded up and headed to the Ft Sill Range and waded the creek, it was pretty deep in spots and slippery with algae on the rocks.  Then down to the big log across the creek up and over through the trees and slidding back down into the creek.  I ran into some sinking sand right at the mouth of the culvert that goes under the road. Daisy sank up to her chest.  Had to bale off and help her get out.  All was well after she caught her breath and we went under the road, got back on her and went up the steep slope to the gravel road. 
Rode around Rabbit Hill and met 2 other women out riding.  Lots of water and mud to go over.  Had a very good ride with very sweaty horses when we got back. 
Found Rucker park, with the horse jumps , its really pretty and nicely mowed there......................Chris White
